MAGDA CARNEÇI is a distinguished poet, prose writer and art
historian. After the 1989 Revolution, she became actively involved in Romanian arts and politics, becoming i.a. director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Paris, president of Romanian PEN, member of the European Cultural Parliament and the Parlement des Ecrivaines Francophones. She is widely published and translated, with two volumes of poetry in English, Chaosmos, White Pine Press and A Deafening Silence (Shearsman Books), and, most recently, her award-winning feminist novel FEM (transl Sean Cotter, Deep Vellum, 2021).
