Poet, lyricist, journalist and novelist Jáchym Topol is one of the most distinctive voices of contemporary Czech literature. Emerging from the underground cultural scene of the 1970s and 1980s, he is today an established writer of satires depicting life both under communism and thereafter, translated into 25 languages. His books include City Sister SilverNightworkThe Devil’s Workshop and the latest, A Sensitive Person. He received the Czech State Prize for Literature in 2017.
